The proposed project involves activities which should lead to intensive collaboration between the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of TUL and the Ostfold University College in the long term collaboration. The project facilitates the start of collaboration and via faculty leader meetings, the rules and conditions of the mobility agreements will be established. Simultaneously, both parties can present possibilities regarding education, study programs, international collaboration, teaching methods, domestic rules and laws, etc. Furthermore, the project provides a possibility to exchange Ph.D. students and academic staff for a short time, in order to introduce research and educational activities on both sides. Therefore individual personal contacts will be created which help to sustain cooperation in the future. Furthermore the desired goal is joint research and educational projects between (institutions') departments as well.
The overall objective of the project is to start an intensively collaboration and create a condition for Ph.D. student, bachelor (Ostfold University College) and academic staff exchange. The project will provide a financial support for short time visit at partners. During stays of students, Ph.D. candidates and academics, the educational methodologies will be introduced. Individual personal contacts will be created which can be benefits later in the different kind of joint
projects. The similar contact will be created between leaders of both partner institutions. The project supposes the mutual short term visits and several meeting (workshop) of institution leaders. Due to these meetings or workshops, existing conditions for a long term collaboration in research and education will be discussed. Based on the specific requirements, some changes at partner’s institution could be considered in order to sustain contacts and active institution collaboration after end of this project. During the meetings and mutual short term visit, the experiences in
education and research can be exchange which can increase effectiveness of the education and higher competitiveness in research at both partners. Specifically, it can be, for instance, educational methodologies, educational materials, international collaboration and experiences. Furthermore, the form individual personal contact can provide an access to the experimental research equipment and techniques. It could be significant to reach higher publication rate in the future.
