Introduction of autonomous driving studies via the Duckietown platform
April, 3 At the invitation of the Department of Vehicles and Engines, Prof. Peter Affolter from Bern University Science, Switzerland, Head of the Automotive Department at BFH, gave a lecture on the Duckietown learning platform and its use in the field of autonomous driving. This platform is known for its efficiency and is ideal for beginners and advanced students.

April, 4 Another production plant we visited with students was the Liberec plant of DENSO Manufacturing Czech s.r.o., which deals with the production of air conditioning units and is part of a global giant in the automotive industry.

Sustainable pathways and risk management in times of crises
April, 7 to 11 As part of the Transformational Learning Network for Resilience Enabling Ukrainian Higher Education to Ensure a Sustainable and Robust Reconstruction of Post-War Ukraine (TransLearnN) project, we welcomed 24 Ukrainian students, teachers and experts to TUL. During the Spring School, practical workshops were organized as part of three courses that will be accredited at Ukrainian universities.

This is an innovative web magazine that aims to inspire and support the young generation in choosing a career path - especially in the field of technical fields. Through video-reports, podcasts, webinars, online discussions and articles, we will jointly present technical fields, their perspectives and practical applications. Alumni Reunion
April, 22 After 50 years, we welcomed the 1975 graduates of our faculty. They visited our Department of Glass Producing Machinery and Robotics TUL, formerly known as the Department of Glass Producing Machinery and Ceramics, where they completed their studies half a century ago. The meeting was full of memories, emotion and admiration at how teaching and technology have changed in that time. Thank you for sharing your story with us - your visit is both an inspiration and a reminder of the tradition we continue.

April 23 to 24 This year, the exit seminar of students of the Doctoral School took place again. On behalf of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering with the participation of 4 students and the Vice-Dean for Doctoral Studies Petr Lepšík.

Current challenges and perspectives of e-mobility and community energy
April, 29 Seminar on the development of electromobility and community (shared) energy in the Czech Republic and in Liberec was organized in cooperation with the Electromobility Platform for the Czech Republic, representatives of the Ministry of Transport of the Czech Republic, representatives of the city of Liberec, Teplarna Liberec a.s., MAN and others. The seminar was designed as an open discussion with academics, students and other TUL employees.

Prof. Mariatti B. Jaafar a leading expert in the field of polymers, polymer composites and nano/biomaterials from Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM)
April, 29 and 30 The first lecture dealt with the use of advanced polymer composites in electronic applications, the second focused on recycling plastic waste with an emphasis on environmental sustainability. Universiti Sains Malaysia was introduced including research plans and discussion regarding areas of possible future collaboration in teaching and research.
