Delegation of our faculty visiting Malaysia
August 15 to 19 During the opening ceremony of the Southeast Asia-Japan Composite Materials Conference (SEAJCCM 2024), FME TUL concluded a Memorandum of Understanding on further development of cooperation in the field of education, science and technology with Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM). The document was signed by Associate Professor Jaromír Moravec, Dean of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering TUL and Professor Datauk Ir in the presence of the Czech Embassy Kuala Lumpur. Ts. Dr. Ahmad Fauzi bin Ismail, Vice Chancellor of UTM. The Memorandum is the result of a long-term collaboration between the universities and the team of Associate Professor Michal Petru from the Department of Machine Parts and Mechanisms FME TUL and a prerequisite for its further development. The delegation of our faculty Assoc. Jaromír Moravec, doc. Michal Petrů and Dr. Pavel Srb from the Department of Machine Parts and Mechanism FME TUL also met with the management of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, UTM, Vice Dean for Research, Development and Innovation Professor Muhamad Azizi bin Mat Yajid and other representatives of the faculty.

Work placement at the Canadian company Ramos & Fortier Ltd.
August 15 to 30 Our colleague Dr. Marie Stará completed a work placement in the Canadian company Ramos & Fortier Ltd., which is dedicated to SusTAIN materials for sustainable development. In order to establish professional cooperation, during the work placement, the activities of the Glass producing machines and robotics Department FME TUL in the field of glass technologies, including currently implemented projects, the university start-up Glassticine and the results of research of the Faculty of Engineering in the field of 3D printing of glass were presented to the creators. Issues discussed included the showroom of materials library being prepared by Ramos & Fortier Ltd. for publication and seminars on sustainability of materials in the field of glass recycling, zero waste and circular economy.
During her stay, our colleague also visited the Faculty of Applied Sciences at Simon Fraser University and Kwantlen Polytechnic University, where she discussed possibilities for collaboration with the Faculty of Engineering at TUL and joint exchange/foreign visits.

State Final Examinations
In the last week of August, our faculty held state examinations. Thirteen bachelors successfully completed their studies. Congratulations!
