We combine theory with practice
December 4 – Our foreign students got a glimpse behind the scenes of the cutting-edge production facilities of our industrial partner UCT Fluid Delivery Solutions Liberec. This is where the technologies that indirectly power the chips in every smartphone, smart car, and artificial intelligence systems are developed, technologies that now permeate almost every area of our daily lives. Information meeting for those interested in ERASMUS+
December 4 – Following the announcement of the ERASMUS+ selection process for the 2026/2027 academic year, the DFS International Relations Office organized a meeting for those interested in studying abroad. We were pleased to see such great interest from students.

Competition for the fastest designer in Creo Parametric
December 4 – The Department of Textile and Single-Purpose Machines organized a competition for the fastest students in the bachelor's and master's degree categories for the year 2025.

Kick-off (for) Engineering vol. 2
December 9 – Ideas, Innovation, Responsibility, Sustainability, Application. That was the second year of Kick-off (for) Engineering – and we are glad you were there. This year, the second edition of the project will take place with the motto: build your career, start by studying engineering, focused on promoting technically oriented education for students. 350 high school students had the opportunity to conduct personal interviews with company representatives and participate in a rich program.

On the Edge of Discovery
Abdelmadjid Boualleg, a doctoral student and researcher at the Department of Mechanics, Elasticity, and Strength, won the first edition of the TUL competition "On the Edge of Discovery," which aims to support scientific projects with a positive social impact. His project, which focuses on the mechanical properties of structured elastic materials, clearly shows that cutting-edge research has a firm place at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering TUL. What's more, his work has enormous potential for real-world applications! Congratulations, and we wish you the best of luck in your future scientific endeavors!

Maybe St. Nicholas will come too...
December 11 – He stopped by our faculty again, and it was a Christmas-themed, friendly gathering of mechanical engineers.

4th annual faculty charity mulled wine party
December 16 – And it was a little stronger than last year... Students and academics from TULka took part, and thanks to generous support, we achieved a record haul of CZK 17,600! All proceeds go to Tajudeen, a student at our faculty from Nigeria who is struggling with serious health problems. You can also support him through a collection on Doniu – the goal is to enable him to return to his studies and life outside the hospital. We would like to thank everyone who stopped by, contributed, chatted, or just came to support a good cause. You were great!

University Inspiration Days
December 16 – The Faculty of Mechanical Engineering presented itself at the University Inspiration Days at Škoda Auto a.s. Secondary Vocational School of Engineering. Vice-Dean Luboš Běhálek presented students with opportunities and possibilities for studying at our Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, and we showed selected projects by our students and graduates. It was an inspiring meeting – and we were delighted by the great interest in technology!

Pavel Solfronk appointed professor
December 16 – In the presence of Minister of Education, Youth, and Sports Robert Plaga, President Petr Pavel presented Professor Pavel Solfronk from our Department of Mechanical Engineering Technology with his appointment decree in the Great Hall of Karolinum. Professor Solfronk was appointed on the recommendation of the Scientific Council of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Technical University of Liberec.

Traditional meeting with jubilarians
December 17 – Advent at our faculty is also a time for commemorating life and work anniversaries. This year was no exception, with the dean of our faculty congratulating our colleagues on their significant anniversaries. We thank them for their work and wish them good health, energy, and further success!
