TUL is a member of the International Alliance RUN-EU
The Technical University of Liberec has become a member of the International Alliance RU-EU. It is an alliance of 9 higher education institutions from 7 EU countries that focus on cooperation in education with an emphasis on regional development. The Technical University of Liberec with its faculties succeeded in the selection of other universities in Europe and was chosen as the 10th institution of the alliance. TUL's membership will enable it to develop and implement a range of internationally focused activities together with member universities from Belgium, the Netherlands, Ireland, Spain and others. The Faculty of Mechanical Engineering hopes to develop exchange programmes for students and academics and to strengthen the international environment of the Faculty.
Remote locking of vehicles
March, 4 – For those interested in modern technology, Škoda Auto a.s. held a seminar on remote locking of vehicles, which dealt with the principles and development of this technology and also offered opportunities to participate in research projects as part of final bachelor's and master's theses.
Nuclear Fuel Cycle, Nuclear Reactor Core Thermo-Hydraulics
March, 12 – The Department of Power Equipment in cooperation with CIIRC, Škoda JS, FEL ZČU offered lectures on the nuclear fuel cycle (NFC), the fuel path from uranium mining through reactor operation to spent fuel management, how to ensure safe and efficient operation of a nuclear reactor, how thermo-hydraulics affects the cooling of fuel rods, what effect critical heat flow has on the operation of the core and how modern computational methods help to prevent crises.
Excursion to the ZF Aftermarket company in Frýdlant
March, 21 – Another in a series of excursions organised by the faculty. Our students were acquainted with the production of brake discs, brake calipers and steering for global automotive companies at our industrial partner ZF Aftemarket in Frýdlant.
Reunion of the graduating class of 1983
March, 22 – The reunion with our 1986 graduates was a great opportunity to reminisce about our student years and to show how our faculty has changed in almost 40 years. Graduates of the Machine and Equipment Design major with a focus on packaging and printing machines were able to see modern laboratories and learn about the creative activities of our faculty. Thank you for the inspiring discussions and nice meeting!
Meeting of BSP students with departmental representatives
March, 24 – Meeting of students and departmental representatives to learn about the possibilities of selecting bachelor thesis topics and focus. Traditionally associated with a questionnaire evaluation of the study.
Lectures organized in cooperation with FSI UJEP, FEL ZČU and CIIRC ČVUT
March, 26 – This time the Department of Power Equipment invited not only students to the lectures Technology of heat storage – lectures Ing. Jan Škarohlíd, Ph.D. and Introduction to Fast Reactor Technology – lectures Dipanjan Ray, Ph.D.
Visit of applicants from Ukraine
March, 27 – In our laboratories we welcomed applicants from Ukraine who are interested in studying at higher education institutions in the Czech Republic. During their visit to TUL we showed them our modern teaching laboratories at our Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, where they had the opportunity to learn about the latest technologies and approaches in the field of engineering.
Presentation of Student Formula Teams
28. března – Proběho streamované představení a diskuze zástupců studentských formula týmů domácí TUL a partnerské univerzity Satbayev z Kazachstánu.
Propojení studentů z obou univerzit umožní sdílení zkušeností s návrhem závodních speciálů, testováním a účastí na mezinárodních studentských soutěžích.
