65th International Engineering Fair in Brno
October 11 – Vice-dean doc. Jan Valtera represented the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering in the Technology Exposition and discussion on the topic "The Role of Artificial Intelligence in Teaching", together with representatives of secondary and higher education institutions of the Czech Republic and Slovakia and the Government Council for R&D of the Czech Republic.
Information meeting on CEEPUS calls
October 15 – Vice-dean FME TUL ean for International Relations doc. Jan Valtera and Ing. Marcela Válková from the FME TUL Foreign Relations Department organized an information meeting not only for those interested in CEEPUS trips. The current challenges and opportunities for trips were presented.
Meeting with FME TUL tutors
October 15 – The second meeting and tutor meeting for new students of the Bachelor's degree programme in Mechanical Engineering took place in the shared laboratory of UNI.Lab. Tutors – study advisors from among the upper year students help the new students to orient themselves in the university environment at our faculty. They are helpful with their experience and during today's meeting they answered numerous questions, which were mostly related to the first days of sharp study. In addition to this face-to-face meeting. They are also connected with students through on-line platforms that allow them to answer shared questions in real time. The aim of these meetings is to reduce barriers to enquiries, provide advice on how to deal with situations, or direct the student with a query to where problems can be addressed and resolved.
10th International Day at TUL
October 16 – The Day full of lectures, sharing experiences, presentations took place as every year with the participation of our faculty.
IAESTE meeting
October 17 – Tour of selected laboratories, discussion on the offer of IAESTE internships – Topics of the meeting of the Vice-dean doc. Jan Valtera and Ing. Marcela Válková at an informal meeting with academics and students.
glasstec 2024
October 20 to 23 – Our researchers from the Department of Glass Producing Machines and Robotics and the spin-off Glassiteca presented the results of their applied research at glasstec – the largest glass technology fair in the world. The current topic of the fair was glass recycling. Our Glasstine Recycled fits perfectly into this concept of the circular economy and meetings with industrial partners confirm the relevance of our solution.
Industrialists from Teplice visiting our faculty
October 25 – Traditionally, we welcomed "industrialists from Teplice" who are engaged in technology and focus on automotive transport. We prepared a tour through the development laboratories of the Liberec engineering plant.
Afeka College of Engineering at FME TUL
October 29 – Students from Tel Aviv's Afeka College of Engineering have designed and built Israel's first solar-powered vehicle, based on a modified EZRaider off-road vehicle chassis fitted with solar panels. They would also like to enter the international Formula Student competition in the solar-powered category with the vehicle. The vehicle made its debut at the EcoMotion smart mobility exhibition. The creative project, which brings together students from mechanical, electrical, industrial and software engineering, was presented during a meeting with representatives of our faculty. During their stay at TUL, the students from Tel Aviv will meet with our students, members of the FME TUL Racing team, an excursion to the Škoda Auto a.s. car factory in Mladá Boleslav and a "tour through the development laboratories of our faculty".
DIWALI – Indian festival of lights
October 31 – We had an amazing time meeting students to celebrate the Indian festival of lights, DIWALI! It was great to share joy, traditions and mutual inspiration. Thank you to everyone who participated and contributed to the magical atmosphere!
