Physics, that warms
November 3 – At the Chodovická Gymnasium in Prague, together with Department of Glass Machines and Robotics FME TUL students Jirka and Vojtěch, we tested in the physics lesson how to "see" heat and what all the thermal camera "sees" – and that it is not enough. Thanks for the great atmosphere!
Technology Day at FME TUL
November 7 – Today we organized a Technology Day for the students of class second and sixth at the Mnichovo Hradiště Gymnasium. At the beginning, we asked them what they imagine the job of a machinist to be, and during the meeting we showed them how wide and varied our field actually is. We focused on demonstrations in robotics and automation, materials engineering, machine design and production processes. In the form of student works, we got an insight into the possibilities of virtual reality, 3D scanning and computer modeling, and also presented our university team of the student formula — from the construction of a single-seater to the atmosphere of international races. Thanks to everyone involved for the great energy!
Virtual Workshop – Dr. M. G. R. University India
November 11 – Stream from TUL to Indian University Dr. M.G.R in Chennai. Today, we presented online the possibilities of studying at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at TUL to students from the Dr MGR Educational and Research Institute in Tamil Nadu and thus followed up on the October meeting of representatives of this university in Liberec. Colleagues from the academic sphere were presented with concrete examples of the creative activities of our research and development teams – as inspiration for continued cooperation and support for joint research projects. The event is a continuation of the cooperation established on October 17 to 28 during the visit of Prof. Dr. Velangany Cyril Raj and Prof. Dr. Venkatachalam Natarajana from Tamil Nadu at TUL. See Review – October 2025 We are strengthening cooperation with India. Prof. Dr. Venkatachalam Natarajan graduated and successfully completed his doctoral studies in 1990 in the department of textile and single-purpose machinery.
Session of AS FME TUL
November 12 – The 13th session of AS FME TUL took place. See entry.
The annual awards of the Employers' Club 2025
FME TUL may be the fourth this year, but the Employers' Club has long recommended and repeatedly ranks our faculty among the three best engineering faculties in the Czech Republic.
TUL became an official member of the Alliance of European Universities RUN-EU
November 17 – TUL became a member of the Alliance of European Universities RUN-EU with retroactive effect from June 1, 2025.
Profesor Stanisław Mitura
It is with deep sadness that we announce the death of Stanisław Mitura, a world-renowned scientist, pedagogue and honorary doctor of TUL. Professor Stanisław Mitura, Ph.D., DSc., was a world-renowned specialist in the field of synthesis of thin films prepared by plasma-chemical methods and, in particular, a pioneer in nanocrystalline diamond research. He co-created the original technology for its production, which was successfully introduced in a number of scientific and industrial centers and also found application in modern medical implants. Professor Stanisław Mitura was a long-time employee of the Department of Material Science of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering TUL. With his deep erudition, diligence and tireless scientific activity, he made a fundamental contribution to the development of the field and the workplace. He was a member of a number of scientific boards, including the board of the Foundation of prof. Zbigniewa Religion for the Development of Cardiac Surgery in Zabrze and the Scientific Council of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering TUL. He supervised more than a dozen doctoral students at the Technical University in Łódź, the Technical University in Koszalin and the Technical University in Liberec.
Honor to his memory!
